Personalized Printing
Because every laser print is an original and from a digital
source, it is relatively easy to accommodate "mail-merge" or
database printing. This could be simply an address field to
eliminate the cost of stick-on labels, or it could incorporate
substitution text or even graphic areas within the body of the
document. Personalized prints are much more likely to be read than
bulk mail.
Example
A good example we have worked on is a lead follow-up system for a
car dealership. When a customer visits the dealer for a test drive
or price quote, the dealer obtains the client's name & address and
what vehicle is being considered. Every evening this information is
sent to Commeleon, either by email or via a customized data entry
page on our website. Within 24 hours they are mailed a thank-you
brochure that incorporates their specific model (even down to
the color desired!), merges their name and their salesperson's name
into the body text and prints the mailing address on the back. A
special offer coupon is included to encourage them to come back. An
added bonus of this is that it provides a built-in method of
measuring the effective rate of return.
